Like many cold-pressed citrus oils, it is a popular oil to use in conjunction with weight-management programs. Grapefruit may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

Caution: Grapefruit essential oil should NOT be applied to skin that will be exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light within 12 hours.

Grapefruit therapeutic grade essential oil is Generally Regarded As Safe (by the FDA) for internal use.
